Pregnancy is a special time that is appreciated and handled in different ways amongst varying cultures. For example, in America, baby showers are all the rage (showering the new mommy with gifts before the baby is born). In China, moms-to-be usually try to control their thoughts and actions as negative emotions are believed to impact the baby.——Heather Pfeiffer
